Union Gas Automated Meter Reading Project—Ingleside

Union Gas is undertaking an energy-conservation pilot program that uses Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology in Ingleside, Ontario. This program will help Union Gas assess the effectiveness of energy-conservation programs in reducing natural gas use.

AMR technology is attached to the existing gas meter and collects and stores a customer's gas usage data every hour. Once installed, a Union Gas representative will drive along each street once a month and remotely collect the stored hourly data. This process will replace a single manual monthly meter read.

During the months of November and December, an approved Union Gas contractor will attach data collectors to the natural gas meters of Union Gas customers throughout Ingleside.

You don't need to be home, and the company will leave a note after letting you know the work has been completed.

Following AMR installation, Union Gas will provide residents and businesses in Ingleside wit information on a variety of energy-conservation programs offered by the utility that can help homeowners and businesses in the area lower their gas use.

Your Union Gas service will not change as a result of this upgrade and there is no cost to you.

For questions, please contact Union Gas at 1-888-774-3111, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except holidays).
