Dozens of people looked on as U.S Navy ship LCS 15, future USS Billings, passed through the Iroquois Locks on Monday, June 17th, 2019.
The ship approached the locks shortly before 7:00 PM, and passed through with assistance from Canadian tugboat Ocean Echo II.
LCS 15 recently completed acceptance trials on Lake Michigan and will be assigned to a combat squadron in Florida.
She is the first ship in U.S Navy service named after the city of Billings, Montana.
