The third U.S navy ship to bear the city of Wichita's name will be passing Morrisburg, Ontario on Monday morning, November 5th, 2018.
As of 5 p.m. Sunday, U.S.S Wichita is in the middle of Lake Ontario and is expected to arrive in Cape Vincent, New York around 10:30 p.m., and then pass Prescott, Ontario around 5:30 a.m.
According to Joanne Crack, admin of the popular Prescott Anchor Facebook group, it normally takes a vessel about 2 hours to travel down the St. Lawrence River from Prescott to Morrisburg, Ontario.
Joanne is a station operator with ship-tracking website MarineTraffic.com.
U.S.S Wichita recently passed a series of tests known as acceptance trials and was acquired by the U.S Navy from Lockheed Martin on August 22nd, 2018, along with U.S.S Sioux City in a double delivery.
The "laying of the keel" ceremony was held on February 9th, 2015 in Wisconsin and the ship was launched sideways into the Menominiee River on September 17th, 2016.

Once commissioned, U.S.S Wichita (LCS-13) will be a Freedom-class littoral combat ship. At 387 feet long, 57 feet wide and a top speed of more than 45 knots, the ship can conduct minesweeping operations, anti-submarine and drug trafficking surveillance as well as humanitarian operations.
The U.S.S Wichita will be commissioned at a ceremony on January 12th, 2019 at U.S Naval Station Mayport, Florida, near Jacksonville.
Wichita is the largest city in the U.S state of Kansas.
