Freezing rain is expected as a low pressure system from the Southern Plains moves toward the Great Lakes.
Snow will begin this evening, then mix with ice pellets. Snow and ice pellet amounts of 5 cm are expected. Precipitation may change to freezing rain overnight before changing to rain or snow early Thursday morning.
Untreated surfaces may become icy and slippery. Travel may be affected.
Freezing rain warnings may be issued as this event draws closer.
