SD&G OPP weekly report for Tuesday, October 23rd—Monday, October 29th, 2018

The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 181 calls for service from Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 to Monday, October 29th, 2018.


Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

  • 28 motor vehicle collisions

  • 32 calls for police assistance

  • 17 9-1-1 calls

  • 25 traffic complaints

  • 12 traffic enforcement occurrences

  • 2 RIDE programs

  • 1 neighbour dispute

  • 7 traffic hazards

  • 4 domestic disputes

  • 6 thefts

  • 2 mischief calls

  • 1 sudden death investigation

  • 1 suspicious activity call

  • 9 mental health calls

  • 4 break and enter

  • 2 animal complaints

  • 3 family disputes

  • 4 community service calls

  • 5 warrant calls

On Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 at approximately 12:03 a.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 8 in South Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

At approximately 7:11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24th, 2018, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business on South Branch Road in South Stormont Township.

At approximately 9:08 p.m. on Thursday, October 25th, 2018, SD&G OPP officers responded to a theft of a van from a business located on Union Street in North Stormont Township.

SD&G OPP officers arrested a 43-year-old female from Cornwall on Friday, October 26th, 2018 for assaulting her husband.

SD&G OPP arrested a 56-year-old man from North Dundas on Sunday, October 28th, 2018, following a police investigation that revealed he had assaulted his ex-girlfriend multiple times.

On Sunday, October 28th, 2018 at approximately 11:40 p.m., an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle while conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 417 in North Glengarry Township.

On Thursday, October 25th, 2018 members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and SD&G OPP officers executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a property on Timmins Road in North Dundas Township.
