On October 11th, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the SD&G OPP responded to a report of a missing female from a residence on County Road 34 in South Glengarry Township. Emilie, Maheu, 26-years-old, of South Glengarry was last seen at approximately 1 p.m. on October 11th, 2018, leaving her work in Alexandria, Ontario.
On October 13th, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., SD&G OPP responded to a report of a body being discovered in South Glengarry Township. The identity of the person is confirmed to be that of Emilie Maheu, the missing female.
The OPP is now treating this investigation as a homicide. A post mortem examination will be conducted later this week at Ottawa General Hospital.
As of Saturday evening, police tell CBC News they have no suspects. A spokesperson for the detachment could not say where exactly Maheu's body was located.
The investigation is being conducted by members of the SD&G Crime Unit, supported by Forensic Identification Services and the East Regional Support Team, under the direction of Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
