SD&G OPP intercept vehicles on 401 for travelling at excessive speeds

On Friday, January 11th and Saturday, January 12th, 2019 SD&G OPP officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for travelling at excessive speeds on Highway 401.

  • At 10:41 p.m. on Friday, January 11th, 2019 a vehicle with a 24-year-old male driver from South Glengarry was stopped in South Dundas travelling 155km/h on Highway 401 (100km/h zone).

  • At 9:33 a.m. on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 a vehicle with a 35-year-old male driver from Oshawa was stopped in South Stormont travelling 177km/h on Highway 401 (100 km/h zone).

The vehicles were impounded and their driver's permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy. They were also charged with Stunt Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
