Please don't throw candy during Santa Claus Parade

2018 marks the 25th year of the Morrisburg Santa Claus Parade with no reported injuries, and organizer George Davies plans to keep it that way.

Mr. Davies would like to remind parade participants that for safety and insurance reasons, candy should not be thrown floats or vehicles—please just pass candy out curbside.

Even amidst a magical affair, please keep safety in mind. The Santa Claus Parade has trooped through the streets of Morrisburg for 25 years now, providing entertainment, camaraderie, and fun for kids, all without any reported injuries.

Parade safety has been in the news in recent days, following the death of 4-year-old MaCali Cormier, who died after she fell under a float during Yarmouth's annual Christmas Parade of Lights last Saturday.

The Morrisburg Santa Claus Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1st, 2018.

Following the parade, Santa will be stopping at the Morrisburg Fire Station for hot dogs and hot chocolate.

The parade will follow the same traditional route as previous years, including a pass through Morrisburg Plaza.

If you would like to walk or sit with your pet on the Pet Valu Morrisburg float, please meet Karen Ouderkirk at Pet Valu no later than 10:30 p.m.
