The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Headquarters urges motorists to use extreme caution on the roads today, February 25, 2019 due to blowing snow and whiteout conditions. The most heavily impacted areas are east of Ottawa, where there have been road closures and numerous minor collisions.
If you do encounter a whiteout, slow down. Pullover and stop. Do not stop in the live traffic lane, Stay in your vehicle for your own safety. If driving, watch for stopped vehicles.
