New Automated Banking Machines coming to Scotiabank Morrisburg this July

New Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) are coming to Scotiabank Morrisburg in July, 2019.

The new Intelligent Deposit Machines (IDMs) are envelope-free. Cash and cheque deposits are individually scanned by the machine, and immediately credited to the customer's account.

How it works

The new IDMs employ scanning technology to detect the value of cash bills by reading the surface. Similarly, the machine can scan the account information and dollar amount from the face of cheques.

Cash and cheques are separated into stacks and fed into designated slots of the IDMs for deposit. There’s no need to scan each bill or cheque individually, although the initial process is similar to inserting a bill into a change machine. The IDMs can handle stacks of several bills or cheques at a time.

These new IDMs will also dispense Canadian currency in denominations greater than $20.

Scotiabank announced upgrades to its online payment and banking systems in April, 2019.

Scotiabank Morrisburg is located at 37 Main Street.
