Morrisburg truck driver apologizes for traffic delays after striking O'Neill Tunnel in Boston

Commuters headed into the city of Boston in the United States last Thursday, November 8th, 2018 saw delays of up to 90 minutes, after a commercial truck driven by 59-year-old Bryan Elliott of Morrisburg struck the roof of the O'Neill tunnel around 6 a.m.

Video shared by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shows several cars swerve out of the way to avoid the truck as it suddenly stops.

In an interview with 7 News Boston, Elliott said he was sorry for causing traffic delays and is thankful no one was hurt.

The incident happened about 3/4 of the way through the tunnel, near Exit 20.


Massachusetts State Police issued Elliott tickets for being over-height and over-width.


No injuries were reported.
