The Matilda Memorial Park Tree Lighting Ceremony took place in Brinston on Sunday, December 16th, 2018.
The ceremony began at 4:30 p.m. with an introduction by organizer Pam Seaman. Visits with Santa, Christmas carolling, hot chocolate, cookies, candy canes and s'mores were enjoyed by all.
The Matilda Memorial Recreation Committee is a group of community volunteers excited to promote activities in and around the former Matilda Township area, which is now part of the Municipality of South Dundas. The committee was formed in 2016 with the intention of resurrecting the park in Brinston, as well as other events to encourage community participation.
