Luva Jean Irven (nee Carruthers) passed away peacefully in her sleep following a brief illness at the Dundas Manor in Winchester on Monday, May 27th, 2019. She was in her 99th year. Lovingly remembered by daughter Gay (Robert Hawthorne) of Edmonton, son James (Lynn Merkley) of St. Catharines and son Neil (Cheryl Byers) of Crysler. Sadly predeceased by beloved son Craig (1973), loving spouse Howard (2010), parents Hector Carruthers Sr. and Ellen (Coulthart), sister Elizabeth McColl, brothers Archie and Ford and many Carruthers/Irven relatives and dear friends over the years. She cherished her grandchildren: Linda Klassen (Vaughn), David Barkley (Nichelle Hynbida), Julie Sinner (Lee), Tracy Robertson (Mark), Alison McGregor (Andrew), Kayla Irven (Nadia Bouslama), Todd Irven, Cara Irven (Etienne Forgues), Wesley Irven (Jennifer Extence) and Wyatt Irven (Jessica McLeod) and her great grandchildren: Brett and Zach Klassen, Tyler Barkley, Chloe and Paige Sinner, Calum and Toran Robertson, Rachel and Rayne McGregor, Bella and Adele Forgues. Her family truly loved her AMAZING memory of life events, her sharp wit, recounts of history and how things have changed over the many decades. She was a fantastic spokesperson for the benefits of Noxzema skin cleansing cream! The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff and Angels at the Dundas Manor where Luva enjoyed daily chats with the many caregivers that became her second family.
