Who knew that playing bingo could be so fun – and all for a good cause? The Iroquois-Matilda Lions Club hosts regular bingo nights, with proceeds going to local charities. Since 1999, the club has donated more than $86,000 to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital Foundation. Wow!

In November, a cheque for $10,000 was presented to the Foundation staff for the General Equipment Fund in support of equipment like two new ultrasound machines.

“We are so thankful to the Lions Club for their ongoing support of our local hospital,” says Cindy Peters, the Foundation’s Manager of Direct Mail and Events. “Everyone has so much fun at the bingo nights and our community benefits too!”

Many people are surprised to learn that the provincial government does not fund the purchase of medical equipment for Ontario hospitals. To help ensure that WDMH has the right tools to provide excellent health care for our patients, the Foundation works with donors who care about WDMH and who want to make an impact. Thank you!
