Grenville County OPP: Traffic stop leads to arrests


On Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at approximately 4:00 a.m, the Grenville County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle for not having a proper licence plate light.


The vehicle was stopped on the Second Concession Road, in Augusta Township. Further investigation revealed that the female driver and the male passenger were both failing to comply with their current Recognizance and both were arrested at the scene. Additionally, over 400 grams of cannabis marihuana, psilocybin, cocaine and approximately $2000 in cash were seized at this traffic stop.


Montana Gabriel, age 21, of South Dundas Township, and Ashton Grima, age 18, of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township, are both charged with:

  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance- Cocaine

  • Possession of a Schedule 3 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing (Cannabis marihuana)

  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2

Both accused were held in custody and will attend Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court, in the city of Brockville.
