Freezing rain warning in effect for Morrisburg and area

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

The heavy snow has changed to freezing rain as expected.

Freezing rain will continue this evening then change to rain overnight as a warm front moves through eastern Ontario.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

A Winter Storm Warning had been in effect for most of the day.
