Updated: Dec 21, 2018

This Freezing Rain Warning has expired.

This Freezing Rain Warning has expired.

Several hours of freezing rain are forecast tonight. Freezing rain will change to rain at times heavy by Friday morning. Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm are expected by Saturday morning and a Rainfall Warning is also in effect.

This precipitation is associated with a major weather system from the Gulf of Mexico that is tracking northward and will affect Eastern Ontario tonight and Friday.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued by Environment Canada when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
