On Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 at approximately 10:47 PM, an SD&G OPP officer conducted traffic enforcement in South Stormont Township and intercepted a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation.
The police investigation revealed the adult male driver was breaching previous release conditions.
Further investigation resulted in the seizure of several fraudulent cards and an instrument to copy credit cards from the adult male and adult female in the vehicle.
22-year-old Kenley Barthelus-Simeon of Verdun, Quebec is charged with:
Instrument for use in copying credit cards - possession
Identity Theft - obtain or possess another person's identity information (7 counts)
Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (7 counts)
Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance (3 counts)
19-year-old Rebecca Roberge of Laurierville, Quebec is charged with:
Instrument for use in copying credit cards - possession
Identity Theft - obtain or possess another person's identity information (7 counts)
Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance (4 counts)
Possession of Property obtained by crime - under $5000
Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
