On Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 at approximately 9:37 a.m., SD&G OPP officers responded to the scene of a two (2) vehicle collision on Highway 401 (between Upper Canada Road and County Road 31), South Dundas Township.
Prelimary investigation has indicated that at approximately 9:37 a.m., a tractor trailer was travelling westbound on Highway 401 when, for reasons under investigation, a passenger vehicle entered the Highway 401 travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes and collided with the westbound Tractor trailer.
Joshua Seguin (17 years old) of North Glengarry, Ontario; the lone male driver of the eastbound passenger vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
SD&G OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).
A section of westbound lanes on Highway 401, between Upper Canada Road and County Road 31, South Dundas Township, was closed to traffic with indicated detours in place, but has since re-opened.
