Diver swims St. Lawrence River to showcase pollution


A diver who travelled the world has returned to Montreal on a mission to clean the St. Lawrence River.


Nathalie Lasselin, who recently swam the entire length of the Island of Montreal to highlight pollution in the St. Lawrence River, came up with the idea for the 70-kilometre journey after undertaking adventurous dives all around the world.

 

Just how polluted is the St. Lawrence river?

Award-winning underwater filmmaker Nathalie Lasselin did some extreme diving to draw attention to pollution levels in the St. Lawrence River.

 

How Microbeads are polluting the St. Lawrence River

Researchers are finding microbeads at the bottom of the St. Lawrence River. The small plastic beads are in many bathroom products, including soaps, scrubs and cleaners.
