Circle K in Iroquois robbed for 3rd time early this morning

On Friday, January 18th, 2019 at approximately 3:02 a.m., SD&G OPP officers, with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Circle K convenience store in Iroquois.

The police investigation indicated that one unknown suspect entered the store with a weapon and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction of the scene with a quantity of Canadian currency and tobacco products.

The suspect is described as:

  • White man

  • 5'7" - 5'8"

  • Slim build

  • Wearing a black jacket with a black hoodie, covering his face with a white cloth, black pants, black shoes with three white stripes on them and blue eyes.

No injuries were reported.

The SD&G OPP Crime unit continues to investigate.

Anyone having information on the above or any other crime is asked to call SD&G OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

The convenience store was robbed shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th, 2018 and then again just after midnight on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018.

SD&G OPP Const. Tylor Copeland tells the Winchester Press that despite the latest theft, police presence in the area has increased.

Although police are not saying if the occurrences are connected, Const. Copeland noted similarities in two of them to the Winchester Press.

In December, Circle K security manager Sean Sportun told Cornwall Newswatch the company was increasing security measures, including staff training.

Prior to the most recent string, the convenience store was robbed around 10:55 p.m. on January 13th, 2017. At that time, police were looking for a male and female suspect.

Circle K is located at 1 Plaza Drive in Iroquois.

The store is open 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
