On Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business on County Road 31, North Dundas Township.
Investigation indicated that sometime overnight culprit(s) entered Rideau Auctions and attempted to remove several items.
On Wednesday, November 21st at 8:10 a.m. the culprits returned to the store to remove more products but were intercepted by staff.
SD&G OPP arrested two male youths in connection with the break-in.
A 17-year-old male from North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:
Break and enter
Possession of Property obtained by crime—over $5000
Theft over $5000
Fail to comply with Probation (2 counts; Youth Criminal Justice Act)
A 16-year-old male from North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:
Possession of Property obtained by crime—over $5000
Theft over $5000
Fail to comply with Probation (2 counts; Youth Criminal Justice Act)
Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking
Possession of break-in instruments
Both were held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
The names of the accused are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. (YCJA).
