The Canada Road Safety Week campaign is designed to remind people that an essential part of the enforcement component is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways.
Members of the Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be doing their part by ensuring drivers are sober and alert, occupants are buckled up and children are properly secured, aggressive drivers are stopped and drivers are not distracted behind the wheel.
Thomas Carrique, Commissioner the OPP says "it is important that everyone take responsibility to ensure safety on our roads. Make a commitment to obey speed limits, wear your seat belt and never drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs, or while distracted".
All road users are reminded to consider safety at all times and to help make our roads the safest in the world.
Remember Crime doesn't pay, but Crime Stoppers does!
Anyone can report impaired or distracted driving. If you see it report to Grenville County O.P.P. Communication Centre at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-(TIPS) 8477 or submit your tip on-line at www.tipsubmit.com. Crime Stoppers does not want your name, you don't go to court, and you could earn cash reward.
