Buying on Amazon? Here are some impacts of Canada Post service disruptions

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has announced they have commenced rotating strikes on Monday, October 22nd, 2018. According to Canada Post, the rotating strikes will affect only designated parts of the country in specific hour blocks.

Updates about the potential service disruptions can be found on the Canada Post website at canadapost.ca.

Buying from Amazon

Amazon says it is monitoring the progress of Canada Post service disruptions and is working to minimize the impact of any service disruptions to customers by using alternate carriers to ship packages whenever possible.

Shipping to P.O. Boxes, Amazon Lockers, Pickup Points and locations that are only serviced by Canada Post are temporarily unavailable.

If you have an alternate address that is not a P.O. Box, an Amazon locker, Pickup Point or location that is only serviced by Canada Post, please make sure to add that address to your Amazon account.

You can also update the shipping address on your unshipped orders by visiting the Orders section of your Amazon Account.

Buying from a Third-Party-Seller on Amazon.ca.

If the items you purchase are offered by a third-party seller fulfilled by Amazon, Amazon will maintain estimated delivery times by using alternate carriers to ship your packages, whenever possible.

If you purchase items on Amazon.ca from a third-party seller whose orders are not fulfilled by Amazon, you may notice a delivery delay as a result of Canada Post service disruptions.

If you have any questions or concerns about an order being shipped by a seller, Amazon recommends contacting the seller through your Amazon Account.
