16-year-old Quebec driver facing charges after fleeing 209 km/h traffic stop

On Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 at approximately 1:02 p.m., SD&G OPP attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 401 in South Stormont Township.


The vehicle failed to comply with the request and continued on at excessive speeds until it was successfully intercepted by officers without incident. The vehicle was stopped for travelling 209km/h in a 100km/h zone. The vehicle was impounded and the driver's permits seized for 7 days.


A 16-year-old male driver of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec was arrested and is charged with:

  • Flight while pursued by peace officers

  • Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court on Thursday, February 21st, 2019.
