(NC) It’s always nice if you can get a little money back when filing your return. This year, residents of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick may qualify for the Climate Action Incentive payment.
If you were a resident of these provinces on December 31, you may be eligible to claim the incentive payment when you file your income tax and benefit return for the 2018 year.
Simply complete the new Schedule 14 to calculate and claim the amounts to which you are entitled based on your family composition. You can claim the 10 per cent supplement available to residents of small and rural communities if you live outside a Census Metropolitan Area as defined by Statistics Canada. It's important to note that the incentive payments will first be used to reduce your balance owing for the year, if applicable, or may increase the amount of any refund to which you are entitled.
