Highway 401 westbound lanes remain closed this morning between Cardinal and Johnstown

All highway 401 westbound lanes remain closed between Cardinal and Johnstown this morning following a fatal vehicle collision yesterday afternoon.

According to Grenville County OPP, a tractor trailer collided with a box truck, both travelling westbound, in a construction zone on highway 401 westbound between Cardinal and Johnstown.

At 4:23 AM, the traffic queue was approximately 1.28 KMs long.

Grenville County OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).

As the investigation continues, detours are temporarily in place at County Road 16 and Cardinal exit.
