25-year-old Prescott man arrested, charged after May 15th, 2019 domestic in South Dundas

SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation in South Dundas at approximately 6:18 PM on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019.

The police investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend with a weapon, and threatened her on multiple occasions. He's also alleged to have assaulted her on several other occasions in recent months. The same male was also in contravention of conditions from a previous release.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male, a 25-year-old from Prescott, was arrested and is charged with:

  • Assault (7 counts)

  • Assault with a weapon (4 counts)

  • Uttering threats

  • Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate and strangle another person (2 counts)

  • Assault cause bodily harm (2 counts)

  • Forcible confinement (2 counts)

  • Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (9 counts)

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
